The R-C Morning Report for Sept. 13

Genoa, Nev. — Two people are being sought in connection with an Amber alert issued by Douglas County last night. The children were returned to their guardians last night and the alert cancelled. But deputies are still seeking Dason Valdez, 29 and Krystle Reid, 27. Valdez took the children at 5:11 p.m. from an Indian Hills home after allegedly battering the caregiver.

The second in set of meetings to describe a proposal to implement a stormwater management utility is tonight in what was stormwater central last year and 2014. The meeting is 6-8 p.m. at the Johnson Lane Volunteer Fire Station on Stephanie Way. Get there early, I expect it will be packed.

I smell rain this morning, though I can’t see where it’s landed near my house or in the Valley. According to the radar, parts of the Valley and the Sierra may have received a trace of precipitation. The snow level’s at 9,000 feet.

Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms today under mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature of 64 degrees. The wind will be out of the north at 5-10 mph.
