The R-C Morning Report for Oct. 7
Gardnerville, Nev. — Main Street will be on the Minden Town Board’s mind at their regular meeting 5:30 p.m. today at the CVIC Hall. Also up tonight are a deal with the East Fork Fire District on the Minden Fire House and a deal with the county for services.
Orientation for adult diploma classes is 5:30 p.m. today at ASPIRE Academy in Minden. Classes are 5-8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. There’s a web site and everything. Information, http://www.douglasadulted.weebly.com
What little wet we got from the first of October has soaked in by now. Stan Kapler reported .29 inches of rain in Minden. Sheridan Acres got .13 inches, which jibes with my tenth from the weekend.
September was very dry with no recorded moisture in Minden, leaving the county seat 1.6 inches short of the 8.89-inch average. Average precipitation for October is .67 inches.
Today is not going to help brighten the water picture at all, with sunny skies and a high near 81 degrees. The wind will shift from west to east this morning at 5 mph.
