More than a third of Douglas County’s active voters have cast a ballot so far in the 2016 general election. According to the Douglas County Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, 10,367 people have voted either early or absentee. There are 29,576 active voters registered in the county and 5,972 inactive voters.

A man accused of a Ranchos liquor store stabbing is scheduled to be arraigned in Douglas County District Court today. David James, 51, is accused of stabbing another man on Sept. 30.

My rain gauge showed an inch of precipitation fell in Genoa on Sunday. The total for Minden isn’t posted yet, but according to records, this has been the second wettest October with 2.57 inches so far. The record was set in 2010 with 3.49 inches.

It will be cool this evening, but the rain’s not expected to return until 11 p.m., so nice enough for trick or treating. Trick or Treat Safety Street is 3-8 p.m. tonight at the CVIC Hall. Expect a high temperature today of 56 degrees with the wind out of the southwest at 5-10 mph.
