Genoa, Nev. — It’s the big homecoming game tonight for Douglas High School against Bishop Manogue. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. Homecoming royalty will be crowned tonight. Saturday is the big dance.

There’s a ton of stuff happening this weekend, including the Scarecrow Festival in Heritage Park and the second weekend of “A Bad Year of Tomatoes” to name a few. For information about these and other happenings in the Valley pick up a copy of The Record-Courier on stands now.
If you count the bug and the leaf at the bottom of the rain gauge, there was .05 inches of precipitation that fell on Thursday in Genoa. Other places fared better including Fish Springs, which got a fifth of an inch and Gardnerville almost a tenth.
There was a bit of snow in the Sierra last night, with an inch falling at Ebbetts Pass. Jobs Peak even had a little dandruff on one shoulder. Sonora Pass was closed due to weather.
Today will be the exact opposite of Thursday, with sunny skies and a high of 72 degrees, but then the gloomy weather’s back on Saturday night, with a chance of rain on Sunday.
