The R-C Morning Report for Nov. 6
Christmas will kick off in Gardnerville a day late this year, fireworks and all. The Town Board approved a fireworks show for Dec. 5, though they’re looking for sponsors to help defray the $8,000 cost. Also approved a raffle for one person to have a year’s free trash service for town residents only. If you’re not paying Gardnerville for trash service, then you’re not eligible.
Genoans asked that a request for $2,500 to fund a Fourth of July celebration at Mormon Station State Historic Park next year come back in a couple of months when they had a better handle on their finances. The proposal is to replace the Reno Philharmonic’s Pops in the Park, which performed its last Fourth of July concert in Genoa this year.
It’s a little bit warmer today with the low at 23 degrees when I was in Minden. Expect partly sunny skies, with a high approaching 64 degrees and a northeast wind of 5 mph.
