The R-C Morning Report for Nov. 17
November 17, 2016
Genoa, Nev. — The state announced that it will install a traffic signal at Highway 395 and Airport Road in late 2017. Representatives of the Nevada Department of Transportation were handing out fliers on Wednesday at the Douglas County flood workshop.
About 80 Douglas residents looked up their addresses to learn how their property was affected by the floodplain. New maps for the Carson River's flood plain were available for view on Wednesday. It looks the flood plain expanded into Westwood in Minden and onto Park property west of Highway 88.
A majority of Douglas County commissioners literally phoned in their vote on the canvass of the record-setting 2016 election. That's because Doug Johnson, Barry Penzel, Steve Thaler and commissioner-elect Larry Walsh were in Pahrump on Wednesday attending the Nevada Association of Counties meeting.
We got a little graupel in the Valley on Wednesday afternoon, which sort of counts as snow. Expect sunny skies today with a high temperature of 46 degrees. The next precipitation is forecast for Saturday night.
