The R-C Morning Report for May 17

Genoa, Nev. — There's something brewing with the Douglas County Sewer District No. 1 with a four-hour county commissioner meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday to discuss the formation of the district, its elections, the actions of its directors and staff and former planning commissioner Don Miner. No action may be taken at the meeting, whose presentation is being made by District Attorney Mark Jackson.

No member of the public spoke Monday at a public hearing on a $5.55 million bond that will finance the expansion of the North Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant on Monday. The county didn't receive any protests of the process and will be moving forward with selling the bonds at a 2.05 percent interest rate.

Expect mostly sunny skies, with a high temperature near 72 degrees. The wind will be out of the northeast at 5-10 mph.
