Genoa, Nev. — The Douglas County Liquor Board approved an onsite retail wine and beer license for the new sushi place in Gardnerville on Thursday. Saku Sushi and Grill at 1352 Highway 395 and is owned by Kerri J. Halbuk.
The Douglas High School Drama Club’s season kicks into high gear tonight and Saturday with a fundraiser so they can go to state. If you prefer your dramas melo, then the historical society’s murder mystery is for you.

The impending storm really isn’t due to start having a big effect in Carson Valley until Saturday morning, and then it will be mostly wind through until early evening when it starts to rain. The first snow in the Valley will depend on the temperature and won’t arrive until Sunday morning. There’s a winter storm watch at Lake Tahoe that goes into effect Saturday night.
Today we’ll see isolated showers, maybe, and a high of 63 degrees under partly sunny skies. Southwest winds 5-10 mph will increase to 10-15 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph.
