The R-C Morning Report for March 30
Genoa, Nev. — Snow continues to equal gaming win at the Stateline casinos, which posted a fourth month in the black during February. The casinos raked in a total of $16.17 million, up 3.84 percent from February 2015. Despite being up through skiing season, the casinos are still down 5.46 percent for the fiscal year, which started in July.
We’re also a tad behind in storm roulette, with Minden receiving .45 inches of precipitation during March, less than half the month’s average total of 1.12 inches. Heavenly shows 5 inches for the last 48 hours, less than the Reno Airport’s 6.8 inches. It’s really hard to ski at the airport.
It sounds as thought Highway 395 between Coleville and Bridgeport saw some excitement late last night with a vehicle over the side near Conway Summit about 200 feet at around 11:50 p.m. No injuries were reported, but it sounds like it will be a project to get the vehicle.
We’ve got fruit trees blossoming and I fear that Tuesday’s low of 24 degrees may kill some of the apple crop this year. We’ll see in a couple of weeks if there are apples.
It’s 32 degrees out this morning. Expect partly sunny skies and a high of 61 degrees. It will warm back up by Thursday and the first weekend of April looks like a nice one.
