The R-C Morning Report for March 3
March 3, 2016
Genoa, Nev. — County commissioners are scheduled to hear a master plan amendment and specific plan for a project on the northern end of the Corley Ranch at their meeting today. The Corleys are proposing an over 55 development. Opposition is largely coming from Ruhenstroth residents. The planning commission denied the request in August. Commissioners meet in the Douglas County Courthouse starting 1 p.m., but the request is toward the end of the agenda.
An interim director has been appointed for Main St. Minden after director Sheila Kendrick gave up her position. Connie Billington will take over, President Bobbi Thompson announced at the Minden Town Board on Wednesday night. I wager the title of the "May the Fourth Be With You," Star Wars event the group's planning for May 4 has her fingerprints on it, though.
National Weather Service forecasters have gone all in for rain on Saturday night and pretty much all in for snow on Sunday. We could be looking at around a half-inch of precipitation during the weekend. But I hesitate to share the forecast of 4 inches of snow Sunday in the Valley.
You wouldn't know it to look around this morning, but there's a chance of rain today. The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies and a southwest wind of 15 mph.
