A $384,317 project to install flashing lights and ramps at four crosswalks in Gardnerville between Mill Street and Kings Lane goes before the Gardnerville Town Board at their regular meeting 4:30 p.m. today. Gardnerville will pay 5 percent of the project or $17,556, if town board members agree.
Genoa Town Board members are scheduled to discuss an update on the 2015 Genoa Cowboy Festival April 30 through May 3 at their regular meeting 6:30 p.m. today. There's also a request from Jacks Valley Elementary School to sponsor the "Read 30 Challenge" for $300 and a request by The Record-Courier to sponsor the Newspapers in Education Program for $150.
While February actually came in with 97 percent of average precipitation for the Carson River Basin, Minden and Markleeville were responsible for most of the bump up. Up on the mountains, Ebbetts Pass received 87 percent of average precipitation, only Spratt Creek cracked 100 percent.
Expect sunny skies with a high temperature near 48 degrees and the wind out of the east at 5-10 mph.
