The R-C Morning Report for March 28
Genoa, Nev. — This morning’s storm is still passing north of us along a line formed by Interstate 80. It’s slowing dropping south, but most of its effect so far today is between Reno and Carson, according to the National Weather Service radar.
The winter weather advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. today with bands of snow showers continuing mostly north of 80. As of 6:15 a.m. there were no road controls south of Highway 50. They may still come as the storm pushes south.
We do have wind though with 30 mph gusts being clocked in Fish Springs and the East Valley. It’s a little lower in central Carson Valley. It’s also warm for a snow storm at 42 degrees.
We might see some snow showers later this morning once the wind shifts to the northwest. We may already be at today’s high in places around the Valley. Expect the wind to continue 5-15 mph out of the northwest through the day.
