The R-C Morning Report for March 21
Genoa, Nev. — Two men who are accused of robbery and extortion in connection with an incident that occurred last summer are scheduled to be in Douglas County District Court today to change their pleas. Sonny Sterio and Michael A. John denied the charges and a July trial was set.
There’s a spot southeast of Walker Lake that’s been shaking like gelatin since a 4.3 earthquake hit 12:37 a.m. today. I count eight quakes, including a 3.3 at 3:46 a.m. It’s all part of the Walker Lane which runs from Southern California to north of Pyramid Lake and is the San Andreas Fault’s junior partner.
It’s breezy this morning, but it’s going to get windier later on when an advisory goes into effect at 11 a.m. Expect southwest winds 20-35 mph, gusting to 50-60 mph. There might be a few blasts around 65 mph. Watch out for flying sheds and power outages today.
There’s a slight chance of rain with mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature near 57 degrees. We might actually see some snow on Tuesday.
