The R-C Morning Report for March 15
March 15, 2016
Genoa, Nev. — A second county commissioner race developed on Monday when Republican Frank Godecke filed against Larry Walsh in District 3. Godecke is a Gardnerville rancher, member of the planning commission and ran against Doug Johnson in 2012.
I'm told that the four residents seeking a seat on the Genoa Town Board won't have a race this year. Filing wraps up on Friday, so if you're going to take the plunge, there's only a few more days to go.
A Silver Springs man, who is accused of doing an estimated $20,000 in damage while getting his last check, is scheduled to be sentenced in Douglas County District Court today. Roy Peter Ricci, 28, is accused of breaking into the Sunridge Golf Course clubhouse in October.
It's cool out this morning at 25 degrees, but there's no weather, and not likely to be any for a week. Expect mostly sunny skies today with a high temperature of 60. The wind will be out of the west at 5-10 mph.
