The R-C Morning Report for March 14

Genoa, Nev. — Buses at Douglas County’s Lake Tahoe schools are hitting the main bus stops only this morning due to weather. Heavenly reported 18 inches of snow over the last 24 hours, with 10 inches of that falling overnight.

There are road controls over Kingsbury Grade, though the traffic cam at Tramway is showing black road. Otherwise, Douglas County is clear. Highway 88 is closed at the Alpine County line, and there are chain controls over Highway 50.

A Stockton, Calif., man faces up to 25 years in prison for drug trafficking at sentencing, which is scheduled for this morning. Bryan A. Harrison was arrested Dec. 3 in the parking lot of the Gardnerville Walmart with 43 grams of methamphetamine and 16 grams of heroin. The maximum sentence on the charge is 10 years to life in prison.

We may see some rain showers this morning still, but the rest of the day will be partly sunny, with a high temperature near 54 degrees. Expect winds of 20-30 mph, gusting to 40 mph, as the storm moves on.
