Genoa, Nev. — Gardnerville leads meeting week with a 90-minute budget discussion for the next fiscal year, which includes reviews of the town's strategic plan, values, budget and capital improvement plan. Board members meet 4:30 p.m. in the Town Offices, 1407 Highway 395.
A woman who admitted to smoking methamphetamine with a teenager she was caring for is scheduled to be in Douglas County district court this morning. Katelyn Karsemeyer, 23, faces up to six years in prison on a charge of sales of a controlled substance. She's done substantial jail time, which might be used to reduce her prison sentence.
Today is Super Tuesday and a strong showing will likely give the leaders in the presidential race the momentum they need for a lock on their party's nomination. Delegates from 11 states are up, including Texas, which will be the big prize.
Things will cool off a bit after Wednesday with something coming in later in the week. Today expect mostly sunny skies and high temperature near 69 degrees. The wind will pick up out of the southwest this afternoon at 15-25 mph, gusting to 25 mph.
