The R-C Morning Report for June 24
Genoa, Nev. — Ten people turned out at Genoa’s master plan workshop on Thursday, I’m told. There were fewer at the TRE workshop. The last one of these is next week at Piñon Hills Elementary School.
Thursday’s hay truck wreck is a reminder that with a decent spring, there is a lot of haying equipment on the roads. Carson Valley ranchers need that equipment to bring in their crops and keep the Valley green, so please give them a break on the roads.
Today is the ninth anniversary of the Angora Fire, which claimed 242 homes and 67 commercial structures. It was started by an illegal campfire.
We will see cooler temperatures today with a high of 85 degrees. The weekend will see the highs climb back into the 90s, with a chance of 97 degrees by Wednesday.
