Genoa, Nev. — The Great Race will be rolling through Gardnerville on Sunday, Dangberg Home Ranch will have events all weekend and the GE Family Concert Series is tonight in Minden. All this and more is in The Record-Courier’s handheld app, available on stands now for 50 cents.

County commissioners approved $1.6 million in work on Buckeye Road from Heybourne to 2,000 feet past Orchard Road. The work will include widening the road to add a bicycle lane.

There’s a ring around three-quarters of the Hawkens Fire, which ended up being 278 acres. The first near Caughlin Ranch was the first large wildfire of the season.

Expect some congestion on Centerville today as the Carson Valley United Methodist Church begins its rummage sale this morning.
