The R-C Morning Report for June 10
Genoa, Nev. — Today is the last day to vote early before Election Day on Tuesday. So far, nearly 4,200 people have cast a ballot, or around a sixth of Douglas County’s active voters. After the polls close today at 6 p.m. Voters must go to their precinct polling place on Tuesday.
The Carson Valley Days carnival continues today in Gardnerville’s Lampe Park at 3 p.m. You can use those discount tickets now. Lampe will feature live music tonight, as will the Block Party east of downtown Gardnerville.
The winds on Thursday weren’t that much faster than they were on Wednesday, with the Fish Springs recording 37 mph at 5:33 p.m., which was a mile less than Wednesday’s big gust. We’re already seeing some gusts in the teens this morning.
Stand by for part two of the season’s first red flag warning for critical fire danger. Minden’s forecast to see southwest 5-15 mph winds increasing to 15-25 mph in the afternoon, gusting to 40 mph.
