The R-C Morning Report for July 9

Genoa, Nev. — The county will decide whether its doing a debris collection point this morning for the flooding in Johnson Lane. We’ll get you that as soon as we know.

We’ve got a busy Thursday evening, even if the rains don’t come, with a lecture on mining history at the Douglas County Historical Society and a concert at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, and it’s all in Wednesday’s calendar in The R-C, which is on sale now in stands across the Valley.

The Genoa Mavericks and Cowboy Fast Draw Competition starts today at Antiques Plus in Genoa, and the 1-26 Championship soaring contest is wrapping up its last day of flying today at the Minden-Tahoe Airport, if weather permits.

It’s the first day in a while that we haven’t had a flash flood watch in the morning. It its place is a statement that cooler temperatures could reduce the number of thunderstorms. According to the forecast there could be some localized flooding, but nothing like Wednesday.
