The R-C Morning Report for July 8

Genoa, Nev. — Carson Valley is back under the cloud of a flash flood watch today as thunderstorms are expected to develop early south of Highway 50. The greatest chance for us will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We didn’t get much out of Tuesday’s storms, which seemed to split around Carson Valley. This watch is spread out over a huge bit of California and Nevada from Bishop to Yreka and from the Coastal Range almost to Winnemucca, so there’s no telling who’s going to get the brunt.

The National Weather Service is calling for heavy rain today after 11 a.m. The cooldown continues with the high hitting 82 degrees today.

They’re having a Chautauqua out at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park this evening as Juanita Westbrook presents “Elizabeth ‘Bessie’ Coleman: Pioneer Aviator” 6:30 p.m.
