The R-C Morning Report for July 10

Genoa, Nev. — The Northern Nevada Pond Tour is Saturday, which hopefully will see drier weather. Genoa’s Concert on the Green is Sunday and that should be a nice day looking at the forecast. To find out more about these and other events check out the calendar in today’s Record-Courier, on stands now.

It appears we have a new national monument in Nevada this morning. Great Basin National Monument consists of 704,000 acres of BLM land located on the Nye-Lincoln county line north of Rachel. Grazing and military use will still be allowed in the monument.

This is the Morning Report’s last day for a bit, as I’m going on vacation next week to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. Caryn Haller will be handling my calls.

There’s a chance of thunderstorms 2-9 p.m. today that could bring flooding to Carson Valley for a third straight day. Otherwise, expect partly sunny skies and the wind out of the south 5-10 mph in the afternoon.
