The R-C Morning Report for Jan. 5
Genoa, Nev. — Gardnerville is looking to purchase 3,100 square feet of property from the Village Motel to extend the Hellwinkel channel to Toler Lane. Gardnerville Town Board members are being asked to sign off on the deal at their meeting 4:30 p.m. today in the town offices.
There’s definitely weather knocking on the other side of the Sierra this morning. It’s ability to make it over the ridge top will be the question. So far a couple of pulses have crossed to the north of us.
I was able to get the NV Roads site up for a bit this morning and it showed road controls on Interstate 80, Highway 88, and Mt. Rose. The mountain passes in Douglas were clear, but don’t count on them staying that way.
The National Weather Service is all in on snow today, most of which should be here around 10 a.m. It looks like the morning commute will be relatively tame, but be prepared for some delays this evening. The high temperature is forecast to hit 39 degrees.
