The R-C Morning Report for Jan. 29
Genoa, Nev. — Stateline’s casinos had a pretty good December, probably thanks to more snow on the mountain bringing folks into town. They were up 12.56 percent over the same month last year, raising $17.9 million. They’re the main source of gaming revenue for Douglas County. Carson Valley Area, which includes Carson City and East Fork was up less than a percent at $7.9 million.
It rained a little bit this morning, but there aren’t any road controls in Douglas because it’s 53 degrees out. The wind advisory is supposed to go into effect at 7 a.m., and that will bring the front with it. By early Saturday morning, this will allegedly turn to snow in the Valley. We’ll see.
The wind’s supposed to pick up a 7 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. The high temperature today is supposed to hit 61 degrees, which should happy in an hour or so. There’s a winter storm warning for Lake Tahoe starting 4 p.m. today, so not a bad day to head home early.
