The R-C Morning Report for Jan. 28
A 44-year-old Topaz Ranch Estates man faces up to six years in prison at his sentencing scheduled for this morning after he admitted one count of assault with a deadly weapon back in December. Gary Wesley Wilson, 44, was the subject of a manhunt last summer
Speaking of manhunts, there’s no word that deputies found the burglar who broke into homes in east Carson City and then took off into the hills near the Douglas County line. Both Carson and Douglas deputies were looking for him with the help of Washoe County’s RAVEN helicopter.
A half-dozen earthquakes rattled Antelope Valley between 5 p.m. Sunday at 10 a.m. Monday. The largest was a 2.5 at 8:22 a.m. Monday. The folks up at the UNR Seismology lab say they’re keeping an eye on the small swarm, but that it’s not unusual for there to be small quakes in the region, which lies very near the front range fault along the base of the Sierra.
We might see some rain this morning before 11 a.m. and then clearing through tonight before the next pulse arrives for the evening commute on Wednesday. Expect a high of 60 degrees today with a southwest breeze at 5-10 mph.
