The R-C Morning Report for Jan. 28
Genoa, Nev. — Last night, it sounded like emergency personnel were coming to the conclusion there was no aircraft down on Jobs Peak, but I’ll follow up today on both that and the at-speed-limit pursuit that occurred between Mottsville and Genoa.
The City of South Lake Tahoe sent out a notice that sandbags are available over the weekend. That sounds like they’re bracing for a storm. A winter storm watch goes into effect on Friday afternoon through Saturday.
That storm will present to us as high winds along Highway 395 from Susanville to Mammoth starting Friday afternoon. Expect a lawn-furniture-tipper with gusts of 45-65 mph and ridge winds up to 100 mph. We’ll be in the rain shadow for the first part on Friday, but we could see some snow on Saturday.
