The R-C Morning report for Jan. 22
Minden, Nev. — The owner of the Minden AM/PM minimarket said he would rather not sell alcohol than to sell it to minors. The market was fined $2,000 and ordered not to sell alcohol for seven consecutive days for its third violation in two years. Golden Gate Petroleum and Walgreen’s were caught selling alcohol to minors for the second time in two years in an Oct. 1 sting that caught nine of two-dozen businesses checked.
What appears to be Western Nevada’s last storm for January 2016 is due to arrive here tonight, according to the National Weather Service. We’ll be rainshadowed today, but we could see 1-3 inches of snow in the foothills on Saturday morning. Winds with gusts of 30-50 mph are expected, so save often.
So far this morning it’s still and quite warm at 43 degrees. The only road control is in Washoe Valley for high winds. We had a 40 mph gust at Minden-Tahoe Airport at 5:50 p.m.
