The R-C Morning Report for Dec. 8

Minden resident Robert K. Schwoerer is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning for a hearing to determine if he violated his probation. Schwoerer, 23, was the subject of a manhunt after he allegedly ran from a probation officer in mid-October.

The National Weather Service has issued a special statement regarding a storm they’re tracking from the Gulf of Alaska. The storm is due to arrive in Western Nevada on Wednesday and bring with it significant moisture. While not certain about snow levels, forecasters say there will be plenty of wind to go around.

A little bit of wind might be a good thing. The air quality monitor at Ranchos Aspen Park hit unhealthy a couple of times during the night. The inversion is running pretty strong today and probably on Tuesday, too.

Today expect partly sunny skies with a high near 55 degrees. The wind will be out of the southwest at 5 mph.
