Commissioners are also being asked to appoint Carson Health Officer Susan Pintar to the same role in Douglas County, which dovetails with Carson’s taking over Douglas public health duties from the state. Commissioners meet 1 p.m. at the historic Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St. The meeting times out at nearly 4.5 hours.
Which should allow commissioners out just in time to see the fireworks in Gardnerville’s Heritage Park tonight. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. Bundle up, because it’s going to be 14 degrees out at 6 p.m. The good news is that there shouldn’t be any wind to interfere with the fireworks display.
We had another earthquake this morning just west of Topaz Lake north of Highway 89 just below Monitor Pass Road. It was just a 1.22 and occurred at 5:38 a.m. There was a 1.33 magnitude quake near Double Springs at 3:56 a.m. Wednesday.
It’s not record cold out this morning, just the regular kind with the low in Carson Valley at 17 degrees at 5:30 a.m. Some cloudiness kept a little of the warmth in. There’s a slight chance we’ll see some flurries before 10 a.m. When the sun does come out it will warm us up to a whopping 28
