The Nevada Highway Patrol is working a two-vehicle accident in the northbound lanes of Highway 395 at Stephanie Way. The accident occurred at 7 a.m. Both vehicles’ occupants were reported conscious.
Gardnerville Town Board members will discuss an update on the Hellwinkel Flood Control Channel and flood study today at their regular meeting. Also on the agenda is transferring the town maintenance facility from the county to the town. Gardnerville meets starting at 4:30 p.m. A half-hour presentation on the Nevada League of Cities opens the meeting, which means the action may not start until 5 p.m.
A pre-trial conference is set for this morning for Indian Hills resident Tearsa Lynn Chaidez, 32, who is denying a trafficking charge and is scheduled to go to trial on Dec. 16. She was arrested on Oct. 22, 2012, after investigators discovered a safe allegedly containing cash and more than a pound of methamphetamine in her closet during a search in an unrelated case.
It’s cloudy, and raining on the west side, but so far no sign of snow in Carson Valley. The Valley continues under a winter storm warning until 4 p.m., so there’s still time for snow to slow the evening commute.
