The R-C Morning Report for Dec. 29
Genoa, Nev. — Expect slick conditions on the highways this morning from last night’s snow. Road controls are in place for Spooner, Kingsbury and on Highway 395 through the Pine Nuts and extending into Lyon County through Wellington. There’s a clear spot on 395 from the state line through to Coleville and then chain controls again.
Sales tax numbers for October were released on Monday, and Douglas merchants saw a 7.2 percent decrease compared to the same month in 2014. The big hit came from building material and garden equipment, which was half of last year’s $5.5 million. Merchants brought in $50.6 million during the month.
It’s 25 degrees out this morning, and the high today is supposed to hit 32. We may still see some flurries this morning before 10 a.m., but the sun should be out after that.
