Genoans will be discussing nominating up to three people to fill their numbers at their regular meeting 6:30 p.m. today. Board members Brian Williams and Dave Whitgob didn’t file for re-election so their seats are coming open in January. Also before the board an overall traffic plan and discussion of the 2015 Genoa Cowboy Festival.
Gardnerville will be honoring Mike Philips for his service to the town at the Gardnerville Town Board meeting 4:30 p.m. today. Philips term limited off the board.
A California man accused of looting a Topaz Ranch Estates home while the owner was away is scheduled to be arraigned in Douglas County District Court this morning. Jeffrey Lee Wilson, 43, made a deal with prosecutors in which they will seek no more than five years in prison in exchange for a guilty plea.
It’s already cloudy this morning, and we’re supposed to see rain starting around 10 a.m. The radar is showing a honking big cell going just west of us, and crossing the Sierra in northern Douglas County. Expect rainy weather through Wednesday night.
