The R-C Morning Report for Dec. 17
St. Gall Catholic Church continues as Gardnerville’s venue for holiday music tonight with the Toccata Chorus and Orchestra presenting Handel’s “Messiah,” 7 p.m. tonight. It’s $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $5 for students with valid ID. The concert’s sponsored by the Carson Valley Arts Council.
The Nevada Highway Patrol website is reporting a motorist assist at Highway 395 and Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville at 7:34 a.m. I didn’t hear a call, so I don’t know to what extent there might be blockage.
Chains or snow tires are being required on Spooner Summit, Mount Rose Highway and Highway 28 between them. Donner Summit, Carson Pass and Echo Summit also all require chains or four-wheel drive with snow tires.
Today there’s a slight chance of rain or snow, which without a cloud in the sky, is like saying there’s a slight chance of me winning Megabucks, though there’s very little chance I will be within spitting distance of a Megabucks machine today.
So my forecast for today is for mostly sunny with a high near 50 and the wind out of the southwest at 5-10 mph.
