An aquaculture plant and a gravel pit were approved by Douglas County planning commissioners on Tuesday. There was some pushback on the pit, proposed by Douglas County Sewer Improvement District as a way to pay for a new sewer pond on their Pine Nut Mountain property. The fish farm, located about two miles south of the Gardnerville Ranchos, sailed through without any opposition.
