The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 5

Genoa, Nev. — The newly formed Main Street Minden program is proposing a fall event for Oct. 17 that will include closing downtown. The Minden Town Board will likely appoint a representative to the Main Street board at their meeting in the CVIC Hall starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Minden is also looking to trade in its maintenance supervisor for a water operations manager.

Presidential hopeful Jeb Bush announced that he has campaign chairs for all 17 of Nevada counties. In Douglas County, it’s Timothy Wulf, a retired UNR economics professor, who is president of Jimmy John’s Reno. He has a place up at Zephyr Knolls.

It almost looked like it was going to rain on Tuesday. Today the forecast calls for sunny skies and a high around 86 degrees. The wind is supposed to pick up out of the west this afternoon to 5-15 mph.
