Admitted car thief Dalton Forbes is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning for a sentencing review. Forbes, 19, was supposed to go to boot camp as a condition of probation.
Both Gardnerville and Genoa town boards are meeting tonight. Gardnerville will be reviewing the former Condron Shell station in the S-curve and talking about the budget. Gardnerville meets at 4:30 p.m. in the town offices. Genoans will discuss installing Wi-Fi in town. They meet at 6:30 p.m. in the town meeting room.
The fire in Rissue Canyon in far southeastern Douglas County was contained at 42.5 acres on Monday afternoon. The fire started Sunday afternoon and firefighters pretty much had it lassoed and tied by Monday morning.
Expect partly sunny skies with a high of 87 degrees. Expect the wind to pick up this morning at 5 mph.
