The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 27
August 27, 2015
Gardnerville, Nev. — We're expecting an announcement on the greater sage grouse today, but a report from last week shows the Western bird's population is rebounding. That reflects data first reported in The Record-Courier last year before the decision was made not to list the bi-state sage grouse.
The second lift of paving is expected today on Toler Lane, which will bring that project closer to completion, according to county Senior Engineer Jon Erb. They'll start painting lines after the paving's done and the road should reopen early next week. Paving on Waterloo is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, which means that project could be done late next week.
The Mountain Girls are performing at Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park 6:30 p.m. tonight. The cost is $5 for adults. Visit dangberghomneranch.org for more information.
We're supposed to have a cool-down over the weekend, but that keeps getting delayed, so we'll see. Today expect mostly sunny skies with a high of 90 and the wind out of the southwest at 5-15 mph. It's forecast to be breezier tonight. By Saturday, the high is supposed to be down to 80 degrees.
