The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 25
Genoa, Nev. — We’ve heard from some folks about the work on Buckeye Road. County spokeswoman Melissa Blosser said workers started cement treating the base on Wednesday and that they’ve been excavating the bad base on the west end. That means a pilot car has to take motorists the entire length and longer waits. While Blosser said the county’s working with the contractor to reduce the waits, I suggest you avoid the whole thing if you can by using Toler and East Valley.
The R-C’s E-Edition is down, so it isn’t your browser, it’s us. The IT elves are working on getting it fixed.
Smoke rising south of Carson Valley is the Mokelumne fire, which is burning near Meadow Lake in western Alpine County.
It looks like August is going to by without leaving any rain in Minden. That will be the third month without more than a trace of moisture in the Douglas County seat in a row.
Today expect a high temperature of 86 degrees, with the wind calm picking up to 5 mph out of the west in the afternoon.
