The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 23
Genoa, Nev. — District Judge Tod Young filed an order starting the process to form a grand jury on Monday. It has been eight years since the last grand jury issued a report. I know there are folks who’ve been waiting for this news. Complaint forms should be available starting Sept. 1. Summons go out the first part of next month.
A 73-year-old man is facing sentencing today in connection with charge of selling methamphetamine last year. Randall Crawford is probably looking at some sort of diversion or probation, though the sentence associated with the charge is 1-6 years.
It felt way hotter on Monday than 87 degrees. I saw 93 on one of the bank clocks, not that those things are particularly accurate. The clouds have cleared out today and we’re looking at a high of 89 degrees. We got a trace of rain in Genoa and Gardnerville, but I don’t think it was enough to break the streak, which started May 25.
