The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 22

Genoa, Nev. — A former church bookkeeper whose six-years prison sentence was suspended in 2012 is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning for a hearing. Tracey L. Taylor, 49, was placed on probation for five years on condition she made $1,000 a month payments in restitution.

A couple of weather alerts on Sunday might have made Johnson Lane residents nervous. But there wasn’t much rain in the gauges up there, and no reports of damage that I’ve heard.

There may be more in the forecast for today, though. The odds of precipitation after noon shoots from 50 percent after noon to 80 percent around 5 p.m. All that will depend on where the thunderstorms end up.

Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms afternoon. It will be mostly sunny with a high of 87 degrees according to the forecast. The wind will be out of the southwest at 5 mph.
