The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 20
August 20, 2015
Two work sessions will occupy most of Douglas County commissioners time and attention this afternoon at their meeting in Stateline. The workshops will deal discuss analysis of the North Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant and a policy on cleaning private culverts and potential funding for a flooding improvements. No action may be taken today on either issue. The workshop is 11:30 a.m. at Kahle Community Center's Rubicon Room.
After the workshops, commissioners will have a brief regular meeting starting at 1:30 p.m. in the Stateline Transportation Center. Biggest items there are a proposed 3 percent pay increase for the Douglas County Constable and the two justice of the peace positions. That's the same rate increase the Legislature granted county officials in their last session.
The haze will stick around this morning and then get the bum's rush this afternoon when the wind picks up. Expect a high of 93 degrees. The west wind will be 10-15 mph, gusting to 25 mph. It will be windier tonight, with the gusts getting up to 30 mph.
