Genoa, Nev. — With school starting on Monday, Douglas High and Carson Valley Middle School are "orientating" new students today. New student orientation is 9 a.m. for sixth-graders and noon for seventh-graders at the middle school. Freshman orientation is 10 a.m. at the high school. Pau-Wa-Lu's orientation is Thursday.

Real-world consequences await "Grand Theft Auto" thief James Branson Cook at his sentencing this morning. Cook walked out of the GameStop with $1,400 in video games as an accomplice distracted the clerk in December.
