A workshop on the proposed nonmotorized Genoa Foothill Trail system is 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Genoa Town Office. A second meeting will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jacks Valley School. The sessions are being sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service. For more info, visit http://www.carsonvalleytrails.org.
I took a drive over the new Koontz Lane bridge in Carson City on Saturday. It’s a big stepping stone to the day when the freeway will connect south of Clearview, which is closed starting today. Besides that, there really aren’t many road controls for weather or construction until you get to the freeway in Reno.
Today is forecast to be mostly sunny but cold with a high of 30 degrees. There’s a chance we’ll see some moisture and warmer temperatures starting Tuesday and running through the week.
