The R-C Morning Report
January 7, 2011
On Thursday morning, Project Santa Director Marilyn Malkmus officially passed the torch on to the Kiwanis. Marilyn’s been running the annual charity drive for at least two decades, and the Kiwanis have some big shoes to fill. Fortunately, there are a lot more of them than there is of Marilyn and her husband Carl, so they can double and triple up.
The pogonip is back this morning and will be sticking around until lunchtime, according to a freezing fog advisory issued by the National Weather Service. Visibility in the fog is ranging from a half-mile to 100 feet in places, so be careful out there.
After the fog clears, we’re supposed to getting widespread haze after 1 p.m. The high may just clear freezing today. Expect more of the same on Saturday. The next precipitation isn’t until at least next Tuesday.
The R-C had some Internet issues on Thursday that culminated it our not being able to access our site. There are some stories that didn’t make it on and we’ll be posting those this morning. Thanks for your patience.
