With seven days and counting until Christmas, it looks like it’s as white as it’s going to get. We had about two inches of snow in Genoa over the weekend. The temperature at 6:14 a.m. is a big fat goose egg up here on the bench. The temperature is 6 degrees in Gardnerville and minus 1 in Minden. According to the forecast, there’s a slight chance of rain on Thursday and an equally slight chance of snow Thursday night. Otherwise the forecast calls for sunny days with highs around freezing and cold, cold nights. There looks like a little bit of fog drifting around the river.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the flu has yet to hit Nevada. Surrounding states have sporadic cases, unlike the southeast where the disease is rampant. The CDC is encouraging people to get flu shots and to avoid close contact with people who are sick. If you’ve got the flu, stay home. For more tips, visit http://www.cdc.gov/flu/
