The R-C Morning Report

by Kurt Hildebrand

The wettest October on record added a few notches to its belt over the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, 2.65 inches of rain has fallen at Reno-Tahoe Airport over the month, with .45 inches added on Sunday. Those of us in the hinterland saw nearly another inch of rain over the weekend. Sheridan Acres reported .91 inches of rain from the storm, and Fish Springs got .92 inches.

There’s still a chance of some more moisture this morning before 8 a.m., but the storm should clear today and the sun will come out. Expect a high of 54 degrees. There’s a freeze coming with temperatures expected to drop to 27 tonight and 22 on Tuesday.

Tilly the Witch will be reading spooky stories for children 4 and older 6 p.m. at the Douglas County Public Library in Minden. Children are encouraged wear their costumes. For more information, call 782-9841. Tilly will be back on Wednesday.
