A fire weather watch arrives with the wind Thursday afternoon. Expect winds to hit 15-25 mph with gusts of 35-40 mph in the afternoon and evening. The wind will die back to 10-15 mph at night with gusts of 25 mph. The wind will dry everything out, with humidity falling to 5-12 percent. The combination will make for dangerous fire weather conditions through Friday.

There was an accident around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night at Highway 395 and Spring Valley, when a vehicle hit a pole. Everyone was out of the vehicle when medics arrived. One person complained of neck injury and was taken for treatment to Carson Valley Medical Center.

Today will be hot with the high climbing to 96 degrees under sunny skies. The wind will be out of the west at 5 mph this afternoon.
