The man who burglarized two homes on Wildrose is scheduled to be sentenced in Douglas County District Court this morning. Justin Turek, 30, faces a prison term in connection with the Aug. 20-23 burglaries that resulted in up to $40,000 in loot. Turek is scheduled to appear before District Judge Michael Gibbons today.

The Carson Valley Trails Association’s annual meeting and social is 5:30 p.m. at the Genoa Town Hall. The finished Genoa Trail system and other trail projects will b discussed.

The forecast for the last week of February is filled with sunny skies and high temperatures in the 50s climbing toward the 60s. That’s not a good thing. February has been as dry as January was, only without the redeeming frigid temperatures. We’ll see some wind today out of the west 10-15 mph, gusting to 25 mph.
