Firefighters have a line around 85 percent of the Springs fire and estimate complete containment today. The number of people fighting the fire has been reduces by more than half to 137, with five hand crews, six engines and a helicopter still on the fire. The cost to fight the fire is at $400,000. The Divide fire was contained on Tuesday. A 2-acre fire near Diamond Valley Road in Alpine County has a wet line around it, with no flames.
Flood damage to Nye Drive in the Johnson Lane area was repaired on Tuesday morning after Monday night’s washout.
The weather has pretty much stabilized, so we can expect the same thing over the next week. Today will be sunny and warm with a high temperature of 93 degrees and a low near 51. We’ll have a little bit of wind out of the west at 5-10 mph, gusting to 20 mph this afternoon when the zephyr picks up.
