The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watch starting Friday afternoon through evening for thunderstorms and strong outflow winds. Winds are expected to gust up to 50 mph near thunderstorms and lighting could start new fires and produce rapid fire growth.
I can testify that work is continuing on the resurfacing of Highway 395 in Minden promptly at 8 every night. The Nevada Department of Transportation expects the project to wrap up this fall.
There’s no evidence that the Douglas County School Board had a bid worth a dang on Kingsbury Middle School, which means it’s still on the market. Anyone looking for a big school building on a huge lot, should contact the school district.
It’s going to be another hot day today, with a high temperature near 98 and the wind out of the west at 5-10 mph. We’ll see windier weather tonight.
